Career Prospects in Sociology

Hello friends, I want my career in sociology but few people have suggested me that it is quite a risk to do that. Therefore, I have some confusion in my mind regarding the future prospects of sociology and also what would be the salary in this field? Plz suggest if anyone can.

Hi buddy, according to me, the field of sociology has lots of job opportunities for u. You can do research work in different areas of society. Many organizations appoint talented sociologists such as many corporate firms like Wipro, Procter & Gamble and ICICI. As far as remuneration is concerned, it largely depends upon the specialization that u have opted for. You can also make your career at international stage. On an average, the salary of Assistant Professor is 40,000 pm, of Associate Professor - Rs 60,000 to 70,000 pm, Professor - Rs 80,000 to 90,000 pm.
